1. What we offer here
Our ultimate plan is to put problems from international and national competitions
from all parts of the world, of all levels of difficulty. New problems are posted
every weekend. Along with problems from a certain competition, we try to give a note
on the history and the system of the competition.
The formulations of the problems we offer tend to be as close to the original
ones as possible - we believe that all conceipts and names appearing in a problem
are also parts of the problem. However, this is not a strict rule.
There is a notation we regularly use in tables of problems throughout this site:
- Highlighted materials are, of course, available for viewing.
- Materials on a white background will eventually appear here. The same applies for
many countries that are not in the left menu.
You can accelerate this by writing us or posting a message in "Request an olympiad".
- Materials on a gray background are not yet available to us.
The files shouldn't be considered as having reached their final form. Some may be
modified for various reasons; when that happens, we put a note at the bottom of the
corresponding contest page.
Some of the competitions have been opened message boards intended for discussing problems
and posting solutions. Other problems can be discussed in the "Other problems" discussion.
In perspective, we may also put some solutions, depending on
public interest. In the meanwhile, we hope you 'll have fun with the problems.
Remember: Thinking about a problem is much more useful than reading a solution!
2. How you can help
Any help is most welcome. This may include problems, solutions, and/or feedback about
certain competitions.
If you want to provide problems, we are particularly interested in those on a
dark background. We are generally very happy to receive national
contests that are not yet offered on the site (such as those in other countries), although
it may be a good idea to contact us first - some such contests are already
waiting in a stack. The materials you send us should be in one of the following forms
(in the order of preference):
- A LaTeX file in English;
- A file of any type in English;
- A file in another language, if necessary: the major European languages and
all Slavic languages are OK.
Your help will be duly acknowledged, and your contribution will probably
appear on the site as soon as in one week!
One more thing: Statistically, in such a large set of problems some mistakes must occur.
We try to reduce their number to a minimum. If you encounter any (for example, a senseless
or wrong problem, a language mistake, a typo, etc.), please report it by
writing us, and we 'll correct it as soon as possible.
Thanks to the following people for reporting mistakes:
Babis Stergiou, Do Hoang Giang, Ercole Suppa, Francesco Morandin,
Hae In Lee, Harun Šiljak, Krzysztof Gogolews, Liu Guocan, Phan Anh Do,
Philipp Dörsek, Shayan Dashmiz, Yair Mulian.
